Limang Pilipinong manggagawa ang iniugnay sa isang money laundering case matapos umanong gamitin ang kanilang mga bank account upang tumanggap at maglipat ng perang nagmula sa mga online romance scam.
Ayon sa pulisya, ang mga suspek ay pinaghihinalaang tumanggap at nagproseso ng perang may kabuuang halaga na mahigit MOP50,000.
Iniimbestigahan ngayon ng mga awtoridad ang pinagmulan ng pera at ang posibleng papel ng bawat suspek sa umano'y money laundering operation.
Ang kaso ay may kaugnayan sa mga online romance scam, kung saan nililinlang ang mga biktima sa pamamagitan ng pekeng romantikong relasyon upang makakuha ng pera.
Patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng pulisya upang matukoy kung paano ginamit ang mga bank account at kung may iba pang indibidwal na sangkot sa insidente.
